IMIDRO Executed Four Plans for Exploring Precious and Semiprecious Stones

Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO), has executed four plans for exploring precious and semiprecious stones in Iran.
According to the Public Relations of the Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization (IMIDRO), exploration plans for precious and semiprecious stones have been executed in East Azerbaijan, Systan and Baluchistan, South Khorasan and Ilam Provinces.
Global Trades of precious and semiprecious stones totals some $600bil per year.
IMIDRO has formed Precious and Semiprecious Stone Workshop aiming at completion of production chain including exploration, exploitation, processing, training and marketing.
At present 2 to 5kg of cut precious and semiprecious stones are being used for each 100kg gold consumption in Iran.
Production of precious and semiprecious stones in Iran will result in large number of value added. For example price of a special pearl is $50 to $100 while its cut model can be sold $1500 to $1800.
