Mu’tah Gold Complex Reaches Highest Production in 14 Years

Mu’tah Gold Complex reached the highest production figure in last 14 years.

According to a report released by IMIDRO’s PR, unveiling the news, managing director of Mu’tah Gold Complex stated: “The production of gold bullion by the complex reached to 341 kg in the preceding year (2009-2010), while the figure was unprecedented in last 14 years. It is worthy to note that the nominal production capacity of the plant is defined to be 250 kg per year.”

Commenting on the reasons to achieve the production rate, Hamid Montazeri said: “Productivity growth, reducing break time, providing the equipment on time, as well as upgrading supporting affairs are the reasons of touching higher production.”

The range of production by Mu’tah Gold Complex since 1995 to 2007 was always 200 kg ingots. The complex was successful in producing 303 kg ingots in 2008 and touched the production ceiling of 340 kg in 2009.

According to Montazeri, the purity of gold bullion produced by Mu’tah Gold Complex is 99.999, considered as a high standard in the world.

“The operations undertaken to update the production lines in various sections were in a way that the plant is working the same as the first year of commission,” he noted.

Aiming to produce gold ingots, Mu’tah Gold Complex was launched in 1993 officially. The complex announced that the production of gold by waste heaps will be incepted soon and to achieve the objective, a semi-industrial unit (pilot) is constructed.
