7 Leading Industrial and Mining Projects to Launch

Iranian Mines and Mining Industries Development and Renovation Organization’s 7 leading projects will be launched soon, reported by IMIDRO’s PR.

The projects are related to steel and iron ore sections and are part of 12 plans that will come to operation by the end of current Iranian year (started in March).

The aforementioned projects include Chaharmahal & Bakhtiari’s automotive sheet, Hormozgan’s steel, Sangan’s iron ore concentrate, Khorasan steel’s direct reduction unit No. 2 , Ghadir Iranian’s direct reduction unit, Arfa’s steel and Esfahan Steel’s agglomeration.

The total Rials and foreign exchange investments for the seven major projects is more than 2 billion and 400 million dollars, respectively.

On the other hand, the rate of job creation (directly and indirectly) by the projects is more than 27 thousand people, while the highest share of employment is owned by Hormozgan’s steel project. The project includes two direct reduction units, as well as a unit of steel making. The direct reduction units were launched earlier, while the steel making sector will come to stream soon.

Meanwhile, Sangan’s iron ore concentrate project, with the production capacity of 2.6 million tons per annum, is the greatest project. In addition Chaharmahal & Bakhtiari’s automotive sheet, with annual production capacity of 400 tons, is ranked as the largest automotive sheet production plant in the Middle East.
